What the NTN is for, and what it is not for
- It identifies the project account when you buy a pay order. Banks sometimes ask for the payee’s NTN; this is the one.
- It is not a verification of anyone selling you a plot. A dealer quoting it proves only that they can read the form.
- It is not the NTN you need for your own tax filing — that is yours, and your filer status on the Active Taxpayers List is what decides your 236K rate. Taxes & charges.

Never pay a ballot application fee or a down payment to a dealer. DHA takes money only through the three channels above, against a challan or a pay order to “Margalla Enclave”.
